Halle 29

Vibrant Quarter for Derendorf

A gray parking lot, hardly any greenery, a 200-meter industrial hall without public access in the middle of Derendorf. This is how Halle29 presented itself when die developer acquired it in 2018. However, the property in the middle of Derendorf holds great potential to become one of Düsseldorf’s most beautiful urban quarters. We now intend to initiate this transformation.

In collaboration with architects &MICA, a harmonious ensemble of the former industrial hall and the complementary new buildings is planned, which meets modern usage requirements and integrates into the surroundings and urban planning conditions. The holistic urban planning concept generates new pathways and interactions with the neighborhood. The impressive industrial hall remains the centrepiece of the development, with a section made accessible to the public and featuring spaces for culture and gastronomy, creating the heart of the lively quarter.

Additionally, new buildings with approximately 200 modern apartments will be constructed on the property which aim to meet the steadily growing demand for housing in Düsseldorf with an attractive offer.

The mix of uses, including commercial, public uses, residential, underground parking, and a nursery, will connect Unternehmerstadt and Maxfrei quarters, thus creating a new centre for Derendorf.

A special highlight of the project is the creation of high-quality open spaces that benefit the community. Green and play areas provide space for relaxation and encounters.

The project aims to create sustainable and lasting values. This is achieved not only through the preservation and transformation of the industrial hall and the consideration of ecological aspects in planning but also through the social component and social return.

Düsseldorf is and has long been a fashion hub, and Halle 29 is an important address for showrooms and their national and international clients. The transformation aims to sustainably strengthen the location and increase its attractiveness for users and customers.
